6/1/2010Minishant Primary closed by freezing weather

Pupils at Minishant Primary can look forward to another day off, as South Ayrshire Council have announced that burst water pipes and frozen access roads have forced the school to close on Thursday 7th January.

In common with schools across the area, Minishant Primary has been badly hit by the weather after the Christmas break - but it will be one of only three in South Ayrshire (along with Straiton and Kirkmichael) still to be closed on Thursday.

The council will update the situation on Thursday, but With no end to the freezing weather in sight, it must be doubtful if the school will be open before the end of the week.

The council said that any families experiencing acute difficulties caused by these closure should contact the Council on 01292 612347.
