Countdown on to Maybole's big gala day

  • This year's Maybole Gala King and Queen will be crowned on Sunday 20th June

The countdown is on to Maybole's big day, the annual Gala, which is being held on Sunday 20th June.

Events will get under way on the day with the parade being led by Maybole Pipe Band from Carrick Academy at 1pm and heading for the Glebe Park via Kirkoswald Road and the High Street for the crowning of the queen.

This year's Gala King and Queen of Carrick will be Robert McEwan and Alix Anderson of Cairn Primary - and who will both be crowned before an afternoon of fun, stalls and entertainment at Glebe Park. There will also be stalls down on the High Street during the parade.

Don't forget the Pet Show on Tuesday 15th June, at The football stadium, starting at 6pm.  There is also a Quiz  in The Maybole Arms, on Thursday 17th June at 7.30pm.

I am wondering when south ayrshire council are going to re-build the wall at  the front of the old folks houses at  the bottom of john knox street.part of the wall was taken down some time a go for safety reasons, as time has past more and more of the wall has had bricks and coping slabs removed by vandals and scattered about the street.therefore i think its time sac done something about it  before any further damage is done.
