Council throws out plans for 55 new houses in Maybole
27 AugustMajor plans to build a huge housing development in Maybole have been rejected by the council's planning committee.
The proposal, which was submitted by Hope Homes, was thrown out by South Ayrshire Council with councillors fearing they would be breaking their own planning rules.
The bid to construct 55 new houses at the site at Laurel Bank and Cargill Avenue, and which would have seen a mixture of flats, semi-detached and detached buildings built close to an industrial estate was strongly opposed by councillors.
And the application finally collapsed when Hope failed to include any affordable housing provision within their plans.
