Maybole is a market town in South Ayrshire nine miles south of Ayr with a proud history, having been created a burgh in 1193 as the ancient capital of Carrick. Maybole is served by railway links to Glasgow along the Ayrshire coast, and boasts many fine buildings including the town hall built in 1887, Maybole Castle, believed to be the town's oldest inhabited house, and nearby Culzean Castle. Prince Charles is the current Earl of Carrick, and Robert the Bruce also held the title. Today the town has a population of 4500 Minniebolers and s1maybole.com has been developed to allow residents to share their news, views and opinions, publicise events and display photos and videos.
