Maybole is a market town in South Ayrshire nine miles south of Ayr with a proud history, having been created a burgh in 1193 as the ancient capital of Carrick. Maybole is served by railway links to Glasgow along the Ayrshire coast, and boasts many fine buildings including the town hall built in 1887, Maybole Castle, believed to be the town's oldest inhabited house, and nearby Culzean Castle. Prince Charles is the current Earl of Carrick, and Robert the Bruce also held the title.
